It sounds exactly like a baseball card in a bicycle tire. Guys i got my first problem with my car. This noise is more noticeable on acceleration because the engine is working harder, making the noise louder.

If the noise is from there i would not drive the truck. Check that the noise is not coming from the cam syncro. When revving the engine as it’s parked in neutral, there’s no sound. No noise in nuetral when i rev it though.

Engine sounds rough when accelerating; It also does it when idling but you can only faintly hear it when standing outside of the car. My friend thinks it sounds like kids who put cardboard on their bicycles so it flaps.

I have an '07 xt which i bought last month and like the op mentioned, shuffling cards is exactly what it sounds like. Jack up the car and rotate each tire by hand and see if you can identify where it comes from. I am getting a flapping or a baseball card in the spokes sound when i am accelerating.

At times it can be possible that an installation tag or upc sticker comes loose and hits the bolt heads. The cam syncro is on the passenger side at the back of the engine. Connects to the crack shaft,,if the sound is more louder on the bottom it could be that,,,if on the passenger side of car the motor noise is loader,,could be timing chain,,,try in locate the clacking noise first,,,. The noise wheel go away when i go from 1st to 2nd gear, than will come back at higher speeds when on the highway. Looked under it and noticed nothing hanging.
